Link to procedure for splicing in the Mustang 5.0 senso Posted by Bill Homer [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Nothing Like a Mouthfull of Fuel to Start the Day..., Peter Ingram, Wed, 26 Oct 2005 21:16:04 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Here is the link to my post from last week, which links to a message on an Audi-only site (OK Scott? They don't compete with Saabnet). The writer of that procedure is the most respected guy on the "12V forum", named for Audi's 12-valve V6 engines, as opposed to their newer 30-valve V6 engines.
If you are going to go with the Mustang O2 sensor, there are a couple of ways to do it. One is to make the splice somewhere near the sensor, noting that the lead on the Mustang sensor is only about 9 inches long - be sure to scrunch up the silicone protective sleeve and make your three splices staggered over the remainng space. The other way that JEM proposed on this forum is to get the mating harness end from a wrecked Ford with a V8 engine and splice this into the existing harness on the SAAB, rerouting the wire in a more optimal way (the original routing is a bear!) that winds up within the length of the Mustang sensor's lead. I have this piece, but haven't gotten around to replacing my sensor yet, no CEL, other priorities. If you want more info, give me a call.
