Is it the vehicle speed, or the engine speed, at which the engine dies? If you sit with the car stationary in neutral, and hold the throttle at say 2000rpm for a couple minutes, would the engine die? For example, the voltage regulator in my 9000 was worn off and would vibrate above 2000rpm. I only noticed it at highway speed when the engine was revving high for periods long enough to drain the engine.
What is really curious though is that the actual dash gauges are cutting out on your vehicle. Is there any reason this could occur besides 1. a serious short in the circuit providing power to the computer, or 2. a failing computer?
