Recommendation for a re-built engine.

Hi,
My mechanics've just finished major overhauling to my B234L engine of '95CDE.
He did the new piston ring set, main&con bearing (size 0.01" over), valves jobs, timing & balancing components, etc.
I hope next week my car would be back to the road again!
Anyway, I just wonder if I need to put extra more pampers to the car for the first few K miles? Don't get me wrong, I will not jackrabbit it! but do I really need extra care? How?
One more question, what kind of oil should I put it in at first? I've heard that it should be a thinner grade since the engine's still new, like 0W-30. But I'm more concern about the pressure drop when it runs hot. Any advice? (I plan to put in 0W-40 anyway)...
Regards,
ColinE
