I agree with Smeter, better to be without TCS. On the other hand, I've had my 93 CSE (with TCS) since 1998, when it had 115,000 miles on it. It now has 250,000 miles. Yes, I had the dreaded TCTRL light on and some LHM issues. Turned out to be safety valve, hoses, a wheel speed sensor, and trip to Saab to clear the TCS and ABS computers. It been 50,000 miles since, no TCS problems.
My 1992 9000T, also with TCS, died a tranmission death at 195.000 miles. Bottom line, if the car is in good shape, not too expensive, don't be too intimindated by the TCS. TCS is just one more thing that can fail, but it might not.
