I'm (still) driving my 93 CSE w/250,000 miles on it (been blowing blue smoke for the last 2000 miles). About 35,000 miles ago I had TCS troubles (LHM and all). It was very annoying. Eventually I fixed it by changing vacuum hoses, a wheel speed sensor, and the TCS safety valve (plus a trip to the Saab dealer to reset the ABS ECU). The total cost was very modest, problem hasn't returned.
I'll soon be retiring the car because of the blue smoke, and moving into a 95 CSE that I recently purchased. Point being, its not the TCS that's doing in the 93, its the wear.
I have to second several opinions I've seen on this board recently. The 93 model year apparently has significantly better acceleration later models (my 95, AND my wife's 98 CSE, which has the AERO turbo setup. I've done the adaptation run on the both the 95 & 98 to fix this "problem", to no avail). And my 93 is a CSE, can't imagine an AERO from that era.
I admit that it would be better to have a later model Aero with out the TCS, but then it might not be the rocket that the 93 is.
