Hello Ron,
I was reading your post about your transmission problems and am wondering what kind of problem that might be and if you've gotten it taken cared off. Also, where are you located?
Erikson Transmission in CT: http://www.erikssonindustries.com/ is probably your best source for replacement or HONEST opinion.
Those guys are about as honest a human beings as they come. I know because I went to their location in Old Saybrook yesterday
You see my 93 9000CDE was having slipping problems on the 3rd gear and I've spoken to them on more than a couple of occasion to ask how I can correct the problem.
However due to my lack of skill I was unable to understand the instructions enough to fix the problem so one day (yesterday) I decided I would drive to their location in Old Saybrook.
It was a nondescript building in fact they were at located at the rear. In any case I walk inside, saw this guy whose name is John or Ron and after introducing myself proceeded to explain why I was there.
Without any hesitation he asked for me to wait then he went inside the back room and walked out with another guy.
All 3 of us walked out to my car and this guy whose name I am embarrass to admit I’ve also forgotten (he has a silver colored hair) looked behind the engine where the cable connects to the Throttle Body after which he went back to the shop, came out with an open end wrench, then proceeded to adjust the cable and then afterwards asked me to test drive it.
And voila the problem was solved. All these took less than 5 minutes.
I was, needless to say most humbled by their kindness, generosity as well as their honesty. I mean I was so moved I forgot to even ask how much the charge was although I can tell in their faces there was none for they were just as happy to help me.
I mean those guys are probably one in a million. And as a 9000 Saab owner I feel fortunate there are people like them whom we can seek out and ask for help. So why don’t you try and call them.
