I am selling my 94cde. Last week during my commute back home it overheated. I ignored it thinking I could make it home. It didn't. The radiator explded dumping all coolant on the street. I waited till it cooled down some and drove it to the backyard of the rental I own which happened to be near by.
This past Sunday I went to replace the new Nissen radiator delivered from eEuro bringing a canvas bag full of tools. The rental is 8 miles from my house. But as you know there is always something missing unless you bring the whole cache of tools. So I had the hood open and my canvas bag laid by the side and sure enough I need a wrench I forgot to bring. So I went home to fetch it. When I cam back, I found the tool bag missing. it was stolen. But some tools I left on top of the engine were untouched.
This creates a not so small problem for me. I don't even know what was in the bag. What is a good source for tools? Ebay? I know for one the 3/8" drive Craftsman torque wrench was in the bag.
I need to replace them right away as I can't not work on the cars without them. I need to replace the front driver side wheel bearing next. A series of other things to take care of on my aging fleet follows.
As an aside, both the 94cs turbo and the 95cse turbo are hesitating at speed. The symptom on the 95cse is as if I put in bad gas. It happens at almost any speed. That on the 94cs is like lack of gas at low speed. At high speed it is usually smooth. Any ideas? My first attempt throwing parts at them would be to replace the DI cassette. The 94cs does have a new fuel pump.
