Thanks, that did the trick. The cylinder was a little tight, but it came out.
Once I got the cylinder out, It took a little while to figure out how to remove the tumbler from the intermediate cylinder. The key is to depress the spring-loaded dowel at the end of the shaft and turn the tumbler past the stop. The dowel and spring will pop out, and the tumbler can be removed. It was a little tight due to the burr on the edge of the dowel hole.
I removed all but three of the plungers that reasonably matched my old key. I made sure to remove the unused springs (with a round toothpick)so they didn't jam things up. I had to file the plungers a bit to make the lock work smoothly with both keys. There's no problem removing a bit too much material, except from a slight security standpoint.
Now I have a decent ignition lock that works with the same key as the doors and trunk. Much better than scavenging all the junkyard locks and replacing them.
