About a month ago I was coming home from Maine and when I went to full boost the gauge went right into the red and I hit cut off. I'm thinking, GRRR! Another BPC! Next time I tried it was normal. A few times later it was hitting cut off again. Tried an adaptation run, tested the voltage at the BPC (it was fine), but would still hit cut-off, most but not all of the time. And whenever I got on it hard I could hear the whistle of the turbo spinning up. Don't ya just love intermittent problems??
Didn't have time to futz with it so I passed it over to my indy who found a working but sticking wastegate. Moving the gate manually he found it would stick, then not stick. He took the pieces off, sandblasted, lubed it all up and it's now fine. He said you usually see wastegates stuck either closed or open but not only partly working like mine was.
