Just got a 1995 9000 CSE! Posted by Porschephile951 [Email] (#2169) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Porschephile951) on Thu, 5 Apr 2007 22:20:15 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I posted my 1992 Audi 100 S (215k)in great shape on kraiglist (it won't let me post with a c!) and got dozens of responses, but the most nifty was an offer to trade for a 1995 9k CSE (177k)"with power upgrades." It ended up being a UW-Milwaukee engineering student who wanted something "more subtle," which was perfect because that's the inverse of what I was looking for.
The car pulls like a banshee. He said (though not verified) that the car has the Aero turbo installed, a "Stage III" clutch (which is like a lightswitch), remapping and some cold air intake goodies. It's also got the hatch spoiler and a few other body trim pieces. I don't know if he's done anything else, but he said at a local dragstip it managed 0-60 in 5.1 and a 13.9 second 1/4 mile, which is outstanding for a daily driver.
The car has some problems, I can tell the dampeners and possibly bushings are dead because it's somewhat sloppy, and the radiator is leaking from the top hose connection. Lots of typical 9000 stuff is amiss (blower fan squeel, thermostat, probably leaking bypass valve, some bad electrics, vibration at high rpm).
I have to say is that this thing is definitely a bit faster than my relatively stock 951. In fact it feels several times faster because the chassis in it's current worn out/stock state does not entertain the idea of all that power as handily.
All in all I think I made out very well and probably got a much sweeter deal in Kelly Blue Book terms.
So question- can I use a radiator from my 1990 9000 Turbo that I happened to have laying in the attic; will it have enough heat dissipation?
