Hi Team, all very goo suggestions. So here is my plan. On Monday get a known good second fuel pump assembly(on loan from my local Saab wreckers...they know me so will hopefully loan me one). Also grab a known working fuel pump relay. Get back to my car (2.5 hrs away on the train). First thing I am gonna try is tapping the underside of the fuel tank to see if the fuel pump will start working. I have seen on this forum that in some instances this can re-engage the pump (albeit temporarily) if that works I am gonna head straight back down the freeway to home. Hoping of course that the pump does not stop again. If that fails, I will check the pump relay. If this is ok and pump is still not working then I am gonna replace the fuel pump assembly with the loan unit. Get the car started and get the beast home. Are there any tricks to installing a replacement fuel pump assembly??? If it is the fuel pump then I believe the actiual pump can be replaced in the assembly. Is this correct. My car is a 1997 model. Is it likely that it will be a Walboro or a Bosch unit??? Thnx guys Tony
