I was either stupid, careless, or very brave to have taken my stalling 94cde to work this morning 25 miles from home. It has had this random stalling symptom at speed. Because it can be restarted every time I took it this morning to the office hoping to work out the bug.

My commute has a variety of road and traffic conditions involving stop and go local road and open interstate. There is a stretch of 2 to 3 mile uphill incline on I-78 west also. It stalled five times, four on local road in congested stop and go traffic. Once right after I got on I-287 north, still in very congested traffic. Actullay in this part of New Jersey you won't get an open stretch of highway even at 7 AM in the morning anywhere. Each stall has associated engine backfire. What does that mean? After I cleared the congested section on I-287 north I pushed it as fast as 100 mph briefly. On the I-78 incline I maintained 90 to 95 mph, leaving many cars in the dust. So it appears at highway speed it is less likely to stall.

I suspect it is a fuel related problem. The fuel filter is no more than 10k miles. I think I'll throw in a Walbro fuel pump to start.
