I've been getting Check Engine messages from the 98 5-speed CSE. My code reader gadget tells me that
1) my fuel mixture is lean
2) the MAP sensor is out of range

In search of confirmation, I have a diagnosis run by the Saab dealer in Salt Lake. (Surely they have more experience and better equipment than I do?) The diagnosis: faulty MAP sensor! On their mother's grave, etc. This has to be it!

On the way home, the Check Engine light goes off! Stays off for several days. Comes back on. Goes back off. Meanwhile, I order and install a new MAP sensor. Case closed? Not a chance. The Check Engine is back on! The vacuum leak search was done way back when this first arose. I'm pretty confident that there are none.

What's the next step in tracking down the source of this problem? (Possible issue/maybe coincidence? After a period of "off" the CEL seems to come back on if I move off without giving enough gas and cause it to stumble. A few days of CEL, and then it's gone.)
