Fuel Pump 6mm or 8mm?

My fuel pump is dying. I sometimes have to use starter fluid to get the car started. I have a 98 CSE. I looked at the fuel lines and they are 8mm lines. Does that mean I need the 8mm walbro pump insert? The problem is that I can see that the fuel lines are 8mm but they connect to an L-shaped coupler that goes down into the fuel pump. I think the L-shaped coupler is what connects to the fuel pump insert. But I can't get in there to see if the other side of the coupler is 6mm or 8mm without fully taking apart the fuel pump which I don't want to do because I still drive it.
