I had an earlier post regarding repeated tensioner failing. The car is fine for now, but when I picked it up, the mechanic showed me the parts which failed.
They were the recessed head bolts which sheared where the threads start and the cast plate which holds the pivot pin. Considering the amount of pressure on that pivot pin, I'm frankly suprised that it is so chintzy. Looks like cast pot metal holding all the components. I wonder how it could be responsibly designed that way.
Anyhow, all is well for now.
