Also, I have this suspicion that there are TWO things for the front doors as they seem to function on two circuits...or at least a more complicated circuit than the rear doors. They function in a piggy-back way but are also the switches for the system. It could be that you didn't disconnect everything.

Good luck either way, but this is a fairly self-contained system. It has nothing to do with the ignition, for example. If the computer (the one under the dash) is functioning correctly then your problem is at the doors. If it isn't then check that ground. Your other option is that the relays in the circuitry of the computer are malfunctioning, which is the most common "system doesn't work anymore" problem. There are two relays in there; one for the doors, one for the fuel door. They go bad or the connections to the motherboard go bad. You can try resoldering those points or just try a donor computer...that is if the gunk doesn't prove to be your problem. I was NOT able to rectify the gunk issue on my car via wd-40 or anything else in that category. I had to remove it and scrap the mother clean. It was that bad. I'm guessing someone had used white grease or something that then attracted every bit of dust it could. The 9000 I have now has signs of the stuff on all the pin joint, etc. It gets used where is shouldn't.
