1994/1995 transmission interchangeability? (5spd) Posted by Henry Helfman [Email] (#787) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Henry Helfman) on Mon, 9 Feb 2009 13:41:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I bought a 1994 aero 5spd to replace my wrecked 1995 aero 5spd. The 1994 car might have a bad reverse synchro so I figured worst case scenario I can use the 1995 transmission. Before purchasing I read up that 1994/1995 transmissions should be interchangeable.
If I am lucky it might just need a coupler/alignment/mount to fix the 5th gear/reverse issue. Looking at the 1994 shift linkage coupler revealed that it has the older earlier style coupler of the 1994 production run. Am I to assume the entire 1995 gearbox will not be compatible because of this or is it just the coupler that is different?
