My "front left sensor" SRS saga.... I have a 1993 Saab 9000 Aero (with TCS), and I had the same thing start up about a year ago. SRS light would come on, blinking, for 10 minutes, then go solid. So I had the code read at my Indy (40.00) and he said "front left crash sensor." and the light went out... for a few weeks.
I decided at this point that I was going to find an ISAT. So I tracked one down, bought it, and cleared the code myself (same issue). It came right back.
So I started trying to be methodical.
I have narrowed it to indeed being bad crimps at one (or both) of the ends of the three wire lead from the ECU computer box (behind the radio) and the front left crash sensor.
So now what I do when the SRS light comes on is:
1.) Disconnect the battery.
2.) Wait a little bit to let the Capacitors discharge.
3.) Unplug the three prong plug at the front left crash sensor, spray liberally with contact cleaner, and scrape the pins with a pick. I wiggle them, and make sure they fit snugly.
4.) Pull the carpet out of the way on the passenger side of the center console, and get at the connector for the ECU.
5.) Pull the connector, and do the same thing for the places those three wires connect. I traced them by color and made marks on the connector so I could mess with just the correct three.
6.) Plug it all back in
7.) Reconnect the battery and reset the code with ISAT.
I usually get between a month and 4 months before the light comes back on.
