I agree with Simon on the leakage - keep an eye on it, but it's usually easier to feed a small leak than to fix it. If you start to drip oil on the ground, the leak is big enough to fix. The main reason is that the oil will get on the rubber of the harmonic balancer and possibly the belt, doing neither one any good.
If you can replace a serpentine belt DIY, you can do the main seal. It's not very hard. As others have noted, replace the Oil Pump O-ring while you're at it. In fact, you might be seeing O-ring leakage. And if you're on the original harmonic balancer (main pulley), inspect it closely. But replacing the seal is very easy.
It usually ends up being a big job for me, because I start to get into it. The belt is off, so I'll put on a new one. If the tensioner pulley and idler pulley have more than 60K miles, or are getting there, I replace them. I'll take a look at the motor mounts, and gee, if everything else is off, maybe I'll pull the alternator and do the brushes while I'm in there.
