As long as the A/C compressor pulley bearing is fine, it will just freewheeling doing no harm if left alone.
The reason why people use a short belt is when the pulley bearing or complete clutch has self destructed making it impossible to keep the belt on there, but in your case it should be fine.
The short belt is 6PK-2330 but I think I read about someone fitting a 2345 and it seemed to work. 6PK-2345 is the standard belt for the OG9-3 model here in US.
