I never replaced the original slave cylinder except for the occasion when I did the 5 speed conversion because the gear box had been exposed to the elements for a few years and the slave cylinder was rusted shut. An original SAAB slave was used for that project. I still have the brand new Scantech slave in the garage I also bought (for $50 some) but was afraid to use. You may have it for free.
I would not trust my workmanship rebuilding a slave cylinder in such a critical application for one. A rebuild kit is not available in the US either.
