Well here is an interesting one:-
My 91 9000 2.3L non turbo (sigh) developed a bit of a failure to start problem, it would turn over and all that, just not fire, once it was going no problems (Except for the check engine light that would flash off a couple of times, yes it is on and says it has an engine temp problem)
Anyway I have been through the diagnostics, and have not found a solution.
I have had some battery issues, and have been using a doner battery to do my testing, so sometimes when I connect the battery (If not all) the tacho will not bounce when cranking, I remove fuse 23 and put back in a few times and the tacho is well, I have done the take out the DI and pug spark check NOTHING, but I am not seeing any signals on the wires to the DI, for instance what should I see while cranking on the Orange wire?
Does anyone know what the DI needs to see to fire? is it +12V or GND or +5V or is is an AC signal?
I am going to check the grounds as I think that this could be a problem
Are there any other no start diagnostics arounf for the 2.4 jetronic (The flash codes are not much use at this stage)
Can the engine ECU stop the DA/APC
Does anyone have a list of the signals I should expect to see at the DI/APC and the DI module
Cheers
Dennis
