Nice, I'm jealous, sounds like you're building a beast. I'd love to take a ride in her if you're ever at any events or the like.
As for the K&N, yeah I wasn't too keen about putting one in there but there's no MAF sensor on a 9000 so not too much to worry about as long as you keep it clean.
After Paul flipped out on the phone when I told him about the AEM filter, I decided to trust his 9k racing expertise and just go for it, even though I was de-tuning.
And the actual AEM filter was fine I think, it didn't disintegrate or anything, but the weird thing was that when I took it out of the car it was soaking wet with water. It hadn't rained or anything so I have no idea where the water came from but I just tossed it and plopped the K&N in there. Just a thought, but the K&N probably repels water a lot better than the AEM because it's oil based and the oil most likely wicks any water off if any should get onto the filter. I have no idea why it was wet though.
K&N filter I used is part number RE-0810.
