My right e-brake ('96 CSE) is hanging up and not releasing. It comes undone easily with a quick finger pull, but won't release on its own. Considering that it's used daily on my sloping driveway, this is really annoying.
Just put on reman calipers in June or July and it worked fine until this past Monday. And of course it's winter, cold, and the glacier, aka my long driveway, is ice and snow. I hit it with PB Blaster today, and may try some heat, maybe some heat and see if I can loosen it up, but it's very annoying.
Could a stretched e-brake cable cause this? Suppose the cable is stretched slightly and is pulling the e-brake lever on the caliper through a greater arc than normal? Would that cause this problem? (I do have a spare cable.)
Any ideas?
TIA
