If you want useless manuals, the Mercedes manual for my '97 C280 is pretty, pretty bad. Even the Mercedes techs agree.
As boost increases, so does internal pre-combustion pressures, which makes it harder for the spark plugs to fire. This is why cars will idle fine with low pre-combustion pressures, but cut out when you try and take off.
Might be worthwhile to buy a used DI cassette, and see if it makes a difference. They are also good to keep in the trunk.
I had the same type of problem on a '99 Ford SVT that turned out to be a clogged in-tank fuel filter (Saab is external). I was able to troubleshoot the problem by monitoring fuel pressure under acceleration.
