I picked up a 98 CSE on eBay in November and am in the early throes of an obsessive relationship I did not expect. I bought the car intending it to be my daily driver but I found I liked it so much I put it away for the winter and kept driving my former dd. Now I (think I am f...ng nuts) am even thinking of picking up another rougher 9000 to replace my current dd so I can enjoy a 9000 year round and preserve this one. I suppose it's cheaper than therapy.
I do have a (semi) serious question. I am sure you will agree the 98 CSE is something of a wolf in sheep's clothing. I intend to make a few changes to make the car more Aero-like in appearance including painting the 'plastic' lower body panels. Has anybody done this? I'd like the job to last. They look like themoplastic and I have had one bad experience with the lacquer thinner of a 'universal' primer boiling long after I painted a piece. The front and rear spoilers are a darkish grey I could live with (the car is black) but the side / rocker panels must have faded and look like crap. Anybody have any experience who can advise me regarding prep / primer, paint?
Thanks (and no, of course not doctor, I'm not anal, it's just...)
