At least you caught it soon. Hopefully without any ill effects. Let him know he just needs to take out the two subframe bolts that hold the steering rack in place. Slide everything backwards out of the way and the SAS bar will go into place very easily. Reinstall the subframe bolts. The outside bolts will also go in easy when either you let down the weight of the car or jack up the wheel to it's normal height while the car is lifted. Good luck.
