Transmission: Bad Ring Gear? Posted by Daven [Email] (#290) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Daven) on Sat, 16 Jul 2011 15:46:17 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hey all.
May or may not have found a replacement transmission, but it may have an issue. The seller said his speedometer hadn't worked for some time before the transmission was removed and he doesn't know whether it was due to a worn speed sensor or bad ring gear.
Its a 1996 manual transmission from an Aero. It has already been removed from the car. Is there any way to test whether the ring gear is responsible for the speedometer not working? If it is the ring gear, how difficult/expensive is it to fix/replace?
Thanks.
