Under the leading edge of the hood there is a rubber gasket. You have to compress this this out of the way so you can probe to find the screws. Use a flat edge screwdriver to do this, then the Torx or Phillips on the screws.

From the outer top corner of the grille, measure 3-4 inches in from each side toward the center of the grille. There is a notch in the top surface of the grille where the screws are. If you use the flat edge driver to move the gasket aside you can see the heads of the screws. As Bill Homer notes, they may be Phillips, although on the three cars I've had experience with they are Torx heads. You have to find this notch on both sides.

If the hood has jammed closed you have to deal with that. Often some prying and a bit of force (such as a long screwdriver or pry bar) will get the vertical post attached to the hood unjammed from the latch mechanism on the cross-member. If you can, note how it is hanging up on the latch. But then you still have to stop it from happening again. Here's what to do:

The latch mechanism can be loosened up and moved, fore and aft, and laterally. There are two 9mm or 10mm screws under the latch. I've found this may not be enough.

The cone-shaped post with a spring around it that's attached to the hood can get out of alignment. When it does, its flat bottom edge hangs up on the latch mechanism. You need to have it be latched and unable to release to see where it's hanging up: the front or back edge, at the sides, etc.

Once you figure this out, you can use a wrench on the base of the post to loosen it and reposition it so it is centered in the latch mechanism. You may have to close the hood and futz with it a few times to get it all aligned. Note that you may need to adjust BOTH the latch and the post.

Not hard at all, just a little nudgy to do.
