why is my '97 Aero fuel tank only 62 litres? Posted by TML [Email] (#2212) [Profile/Gallery] (more from TML) on Thu, 27 Oct 2011 07:48:19 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
According to the manual, the tank is 66 litres. A while back I was driving on the highway on low fuel; I found out my "distance to empty" gauge is not very reliable - at start of trip it said 50km, 20km later it said 8km, 1km later I was out of gas (while it still said 8km to go). So anyway, the point is the tank was bone dry, and when I filled it I could only get 62L in, even with a generous "extra" fill after the auto-fill stop. I know they say "approximately", but is there really that much variation in tank size, or did they put the wrong gas tank on my car? I guess it doesn't matter much, but I do find it odd.
