trick to clean coolant expansion tank Posted by turbosaab [Email] (#9999) [Profile/Gallery] (more from turbosaab) on Fri, 11 Nov 2011 09:26:38 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Coolant tank had lots of caked on scuzz inside it, I tried all the tricks listed in the archives (coffee, vinegar, CLR, coca cola), little success. Ended up using a small amount of dishwasher detergent, a very small amount of water, and about 1/2 cup of sea salt (course grain), shaken vigorously it was enough to dislodge almost all the crap. Flushed very thoroughly with water to remove all salt residue.
I am not sure if this was a good idea but figured I'd share for posterity in case it helps someone...
