Hey All,

I have a hunch that my starter is beginning to fail, but the only other experience I had with a starter failing didn't show these symptoms

When I attempt to start the car, (occasionally) it will crank 7-9 times, and while cranking, sometimes it will sound like a crank is missed...

For example, like this (to the best of my ability on a keyboard :) )

Crank, crank, crank, crank, kchhhhh, crank, crank, crank, kchhhh, Crank, crank, VROOM.

Obviously, being a quirky Saab, it will sometimes "Crank, VROOM" no problem so I have not been able to get a good video of the occurence to post on YouTube for reference.

It seems like it cranks fine on a cold start, but if I turn the car off to go into a store for example, come out 5 mins later and try to start...that is when it does the 7+ cranks and skipping a beat. (This could be purely a coincidence, just disclosing what I have noted)

Any help or guesses are appreciated
