I've ordered from Envirosafe Posted by JerseySaab [Email] (#666) [Profile/Gallery] (more from JerseySaab) on Wed, 11 Apr 2012 16:21:41 In Reply to: refrigerant update..., vtsnaab [Profile/Gallery] , Wed, 11 Apr 2012 12:28:54 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
They're generally good and also have all kinds of fittings and adapters at low cost. However, don't be tempted by their electronic leak detector (sells for about $50) that is supposed to be able to detect hydrocarbon refrigerants. I bought one and found it detects R134a well, but would not react to Envirosafe. Turns out that it only "detects" HC in the sense that a large enough leak will blow air across the sensor and set it off! (That's what their tech support told me when I called for help.)
Yes, we're getting to the season for dealing with A/C issues yet again. I left mine still not working very well at the end of the last season after having done considerable work on it. Now I've opened up the condenser fins where they were closed up (about the bottom 1/4), won't know until the next warm day whether that improves matters or not...
