I was just reading the post regarding slave longevity and felt compelled to post. I have a 1993 9000 non-turbo. I sold it to a friend and eventually the slave started leaking so I bought it back. It has about 160,000 on the clock. I thought I would try to fix it cheaply I would go that route rather than strip it. I thought I had found an economical answer, a used cylinder from a 92. I pulled the car apart and learned the hard way that there was a switchover in 92 that is unique to 92 and 93. The switch is designated by the tranny number. I purchased a new one from a website that showed a picture of one that looked like mine but the one I received was not the same. I decided I would buy the cheapo one from eEuroparts as I know they would send the correct one. Unfortunately, I am finding out 2 weeks later that they are out of stock and don't know when they might have more. I couldn't be more frustrated. My only option is spending half of what I can probably sell the car for just to get the Saab OEM part. If I was keeping the car I would have ordered it from the get go just based on what I have read here. Unless I can come up with a used one from somewhere I will probably strip it and junk it. It seems like such a waste.
