WE experienced the same long cranking time phenomenon on our 1994 9000 Aero. We suspected the check valve; however, when we had our mechanic replace the fuel pump he found that one of the fuel lines had a pinhole size leak and was leaking fuel, which was the cause of the long cranking issue.
