In the US, an '86 9000T DID come with options ... as it was our first [of many!] 9000's.
Ours had leather seats, the Saab Info display clock, power locks, windows, mirrors, etc everything, a moonroof, hitch factory accessory installed [at the Goteborg delivery center]: HD load leveling shocks, HD rear springs [towed a 2500# boat for a decade w/ no problems].
The leather seat heaters were, like the older style 99, 'one speed' and controlled by a weight sensing t-stat ... not very good compared to the higher wattage three speed style on later years.
The brakes, as mentioned by others, were excellent, even though not ABS. The oil cooled turbo needed no work during the 12 yrs or so we owned the car - I was pretty careful about the cool down if I'd been driving it hard. Most of the time, pulling in your driveway/garage was plenty of low rev time.
It had a 5 speed, with orig clutch when we sold it at 121,000. The purchaser used to email me updates from time to time[the irony: a few years later, I ended up buying his 97 Aero, which still runs like a top @ 232,000 mi]. I did put in a red box APC and upgraded fuel pressure regulator [then would hit boost cutoff at high speeds!].
The 'cloth, few options' type was common in the UK in 1985 models. Don't know how many US ones came with leather, but ours was bulletproof. 'Buffalo Gray', a great color leather and carpet.
And the roomier hatchback [compared to the post-'93 models] was useful, too, even if the latch mechanism [pre-electric hatch release] did get balky in later years.
