Replacing radiator, what coolant for '92 Turbo? Posted by bstan9k [Email] (#215) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bstan9k) on Sun, 23 Dec 2012 06:05:23 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Going into the winter months here in Northern Indiana and wondering if I can wait to the spring to replace items below ?
I have a hairline crack in the plastic-neck input of my original radiator. I also have a slowly seeping coolant reservoir (along the pressed-seam). I've ordered the radiator, reservoir tank and hoses and should probably get both upper and lower radiator hoses too, so I'll be prepared for a disaster (have another car in case of emergency).
Any other parts I should also consider doing at the same time, like thermostat, etc?
I have a question on what is the best coolant to use now ?
Manufacturer specs indicated BASF G-48 was used to fill the cooling system when the car was new. I think this is the orange Dexcool, right ?
My '92 9kT 5speed has 140k miles on it.
