Offset and backspacing are the same thing, just using a different reference point. On a given width of rim, changing offset changes backspacing by the exact same amount. So there's no real need to look at both backspacing and offset, nor can you tinker with one or the other in order to make it fit better - one depends on the other. The only thing that would make a slight difference is the thickness of the lip on the wheel, since the backspacing appears (from the linked site) to be measured from the outside of the lip, while the wheel width is measured from the inside of the lip. So backspacing might be slightly different between two 7" rims with the same offset, but we're talking a mm or two at most.
