The rear engine mount support on the four cylinder block (2.0, 2.3L) contains a bearing assembly. The companion flange on the passenger side is retained by a circlip on the intermediate shaft side of this bearing. The stub shaft of the companion flange mates with the intermediate shaft; recommend Castrol moly lithium grease on those splines, as well as on the tripod bearings entering the companion flange(Townsend).
