I haven't posted in a while, but have used TSN for a lot of projects in recent years. Our two 9000s, a 91 S auto has 267k (hers), and our 92 turbo manual (his) has 257k.
I'm in the middle of a steering rack and hose replacement on the 91, and had WTF? moment followed by a duh! moment after some research here.
I used to post quite frequently, but transitioned from an office job to a job as a security technician.
The board was extremely helpful 2 summers ago while I did a oil pan removal to remove the balance shaft chain (it didn't come out). The tensioner had extended so far that it was jammed into the chain. The non-turning chain had turned the crank balance shaft sprocket to nubs, and the metal was beginning to clog the oil pickup tube. I was getting low oil pressure at idle, and that's how I discovered the problem. Ended up doing the timing chain as well, but did not replace the BS chain.
Did the clutch on the 92 last summer, and I've used the board numerous times for memory refreshment on brakes, exhaust, and even little things like dash lights and other interior electrical things. And the more I learn about the B234 engine (and other engines), the more I like it.
I truly appreciate the resource that you all have helped create, and thought I would take a moment to say thank you. And don't stop, because I have a few projects to do yet ...
Thanks again.
