The poly transmission mount is a mixed bag. If you didn't have much vibration before the old mount went bad then you won't have much vibration after installing the poly mount. If vibration really bothers you then go with the rubber mount. I went poly on my '96CS automatic and have no regrets, part of my ongoing program to de-Buick my 9K.
You should discard the old mount if you buy a poly mount made by Professional Parts Sweden (part number 62345312PU). It is not designed to fit inside the old mount's metal collar. This poly mount is slightly oversized, and that makes it more of a chore to install than it would be otherwise. But for me re-installing the fender liner was the biggest pita of the whole job.
I'll post my procedure for changing the mount if you need it.
