That was me who posted about my experience with O2 sensors on my 1996 Audi A4 2.8; the V6 cars have four sensors (dual exhaust pipes and cats to the rear muffler), so an economical solution pays off (and the genuine sensors were much more expensive back then). I used three-wire Bosch sensors from an early 90s Ford Mustang 5.0 for the fronts and four-wire Bosch sensors from a Chrysler Concorde V6 for the rear. These worked fine for years before I sold the car.
If you can get the proper sensor for $60, just get that one and avoid any headaches.
