Bill and Roger, thanks for the help. I've got the relay panel dropped. I removed the reverse relay and jumpered the backup light circuit. The reverse lights come on (good news!). That includes the hatch as well as the lights on the front turn signal housings.
I then checked the continuity across the other two slots that the relay occupies (I'm assuming these are for the switch circuit). There is no continuity with the car in neutral (1.0 on the DVM). When shifted to neutral (with key on), there is continuity (close to zero on DVM). But I checked the voltage and there is none with the car shifted to reverse or neutral. So in other words, the reverse light switch provides continuity when the shifter is in reverse, but there is no voltage in the circuit to energize the relay. Could this still be a bad reverse switch? Or is there likely a grounding issue? Also, I checked the reverse light fuse (#9) and it is ok.
Thanks,
Robert
