'98 CSE - the A/C had been working fine this year (after adding a can of coolant this spring). Last week, it started acting up - turn on and get cold, but after a short time stop working (maybe 20 minutes). At first, if I turned the temp up to maybe 74, and manually lowered the fan speed, it would keep cooling for up to 30 minutes, but this time kept decreasing. As of Saturday, it cooled for maybe 5-7 minutes, then stopped. If you left the ACC alone, after 30-40 minutes, it would cool again for 5 minutes, then quit again. Charge (per the small gage supplied with a recharge can) is in the middle of the green, and the air coming out of the center vent had been at 40-41 degrees. If I hot wire the compressor, it cools without issue. Therefore, a switch or sensor is suspect. Where to start?
