Well this sucks. Sitting in a McDonald's in Lebanon, NH waiting for a ride on Thanksgiving afternoon. Driving up I-93, minding my own business, and I get rear ended by someone not paying attention. Traffic was moderate and I didn't notice this guy tailgating me so he must have been cutting through traffic and misjudged his closing speed. He pretty much drove the left rear of my Aero into the tire. I was doing 75 in the right lane, not sure how fast he was going. No one was hurt. I got a scrape on my forehead where I hit the visor but that was it. This could've been a lot worse. I maintained control of the car and slowed it down and pulled over to the shoulder. If it would've cut the tire or jammed it up this could've gone south quick. Pretty sure it will be totaled. It's got 238K on it. Looking for advice on what to do next. What pitfalls are waiting for me when dealing with this yo yo's insurance company? He's got Liberty Mutual. I called 911 so there is a police report. Both vehicles had to be towed. Mine is sitting at Kidder's Automotive in Lebanon. I have another 97 in Scarab green so I would consider buying it back from the insurance company so I can get the Aero parts, new front fenders, Stage 1 ECU and other stuff. I think the remote CD is trashed.
