That doesn't sound good, Erickson has been the go-to source for these transmissions.
The ZF 4HP18Q transmission was also used by Fiat, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Citroen, and Peugeot. I would think there would be European parts houses that have the governor seals. Another possibility would be to call Eeuroparts, they say they can special order what they don't stock.
