Seats from 93 Aero problem Posted by Brucebhp [Email] (#1454) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Brucebhp) on Sun, 29 Apr 2018 07:53:14 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I'm installing the front seats from a 93 Aero into my 94 CSE. Got the drivers seat installed just fine, but passenger seat has a problem: the backrest part of the seat will not move. The switch works, the motor runs, you can feel the two cables flexing, but the backrest doesn't respond, even when I get in the seat and try to help it by pushing hard with my feet up on the dash! The backrest is stuck far enough forward that no one could be comfortable in the seat, so I must get this figured out. The theory is that something happened in the six months since the seat was unbolted from its donor car. At that time, my mechanic tells me he powered the seat up and moved the backrest into a somewhat folded position so that the seat could be manuvered better. Then he unbolted it; I came along recently and bought the seat, wrestled it into a car, drove 200 miles, installed it in my '94, but for some mysterious reason the backrest refuses to move! Suggestions Please!
