I'm very much in the same boat regards the chains at 235,000 miles.
Drives great, and no issues, but there is a bit of noise that normally would get me headed in investigating and changing etc.
The previous owner told me that he was thinking about deleting the balance chain. There's info on the forums regards this but mostly in the OG900 and NG9-3 forums I believe.
At least worth considering. I don't know how I feel about it, and figure I'm going to let sleeping dogs lie.
I changed my outer tie rods last year and my inners seemed a-okay. Took about 5 mins of MAP torch heating to get the outers off for what its worth...
I will be interested to hear others thoughts.
