ACC1 Cabin fan controller

I have a dead blower fan speed regulator (3 - 10mm bolt bosch unit attached to the a/c housing in the aquarium section) that is proving very hard to source a replacement for. It doesn't look like it can be rebuilt. In an attempt to just get the fan spinning up some cabin air, I'm wondering if the regulator / controller can be bypassed and the blower could be hard wired to a discreetly placed switch. Any thoughts appreciated!
