I am ashamed to ask...

I purchased the hands free kit from Nokia and interface from Saab and am trying to install it in my 2000 9-5. How the hell do you remove the radio? It is the premium sound system. I assumed I could use my din tool for Ford radios but it was bent too narrow. I cut it in half and inserted it into the four holes, but the radio would not budge. I thought maybe it was too short, so I got a coat hanger and cut long lengths of it and put then into the four release holes and pulled on the tape player and it would not budge.
I have applied pressure towards the center and outwards on the "tool" but this does not make any difference. I was pretty sure that was all there was to it but the radio will not budge... I am scared to pull much harder.
WTF?
